SFX User Interface

The SFX interface is broken up into several different sections.  The windows in SFX can be sized, hidden, and arranged to your liking.

Click the image at left for a larger image of the entire interface.

The main interface components are described briefly below.

In the center is the Cue List where you can have one or more Cue List windows containing the various effects that you will playback.  Cues can be dragged-and-dropped directly from Windows Explorer or they can be dropped from the SFX Toolbox.

Some of the different effects types represented in the example image are Sound Cues in the form of Wave files or MP3, a Wait cue right after Q1, an Autofollow cue joining the cues at Q6, and then a Volume Change cue at Q4 which modifies the volume of one or more cues. In this case, it's changing the volume of Q3 Birds-Morning.

The columns indicate cue status, cue type, properties, triggers, cue number, time elapsed, time remaining, time code, and the title of the cue.  These columns can be hidden, sized, and arranged.  Cues that are connected by Waits and Autofollows can also be "collapsed" down to a single line.

The green bar indicates the cue that is in Standby, which is the cue that will begin to play when a GO is received.  Immediately upon receiving a GO, the Standby bar will automatically select the next cue.

The Transport window will display the cue(s) in Standby as well as the status of the cues currently playing.

The Active Matrix provides you a display and interface of the volume levels of all Standby and Playing Cues.

The Go Button is the most visible way to execute the cues in your show.  You can also assign a key on the keyboard to act as GO, and you can even assign keys to trigger specific cues.

SFX can also be triggered externally through MIDI, MIDI Show Control(MSC), MIDI Time Code, Telnet, and RS-232.
